- Take the N4 from JHB / Pretoria. Bypass Witbank and Middelburg, continue on to Belfast.
- Turn left onto the R540 past Dullstroom to Lydenburg. From Lydenburg take the R36 to Origstad.
- Pass through the JG Strijdom Tunnel.
- From the tunnel, continue for approx. 27 km before turning right towards Klaserie.
- Continue straight along the Klaserie road until you reach a sign pointing to Orpen & The South African Wildlife College.
- Turn left and take the R531 for about 30 km until reaching the entrance to The South African Wildlife College on the left hand side.
- Immediately after the College, follow a small dirt track on the right which takes you off of the tar road.
- Drive through the gate and follow the signs for the lodge. |

- Use Gowrie Gate only. Due to river crossings, no other gate can be used at Sabi Sands Game Reserve.
- From 01/10/2010 the Gowrie Gate entrance fees will be R 110.00 per vehicle and R 20.00 per person.
- For safety reasons, children aged 16 and under are not allowed to go on the bush walk.
- Guests over the age of 60 are required to provide a medical certificate stating that they are in good health and fit to go on a bush walk. |
