This guest house offers award-winning cuisine in the tranquil setting of KwaZulu Natals Drakensberg Mountains, right on the border of Giants Castle Nature Reserve.
Cleopatra Mountain Farmhouse is nestled on the edge of a dam and opens to mountain views. Accommodation include rooms, suites, and cottages that are decorated in the charming style of countryside.
Guests can begin the day with a 3-course breakfast, enjoy home-made cakes and pastries in the afternoon, and a sumptuous 6-course meals when dinning. After dinning, guests can relax in front of the fireplace or enjoying a dip in your free-standing bath.
Cleopatra's helpful hosts are happy to arrange for excursions or viewings of local bushman paintings. Guests can enjoy exploring the area either on foot or by rental bike, a swim in mountain streams, or trout fishing. |

By car:
- Coming from Johannesburg, follow the N3 to Durban.
- Keep on the left lane at the main Mooi River Toll.
- Turn right and cross back over the motorway.
- Once you reach the T-junction, turn left and continue on the R103.
- Continue 10 south, to Rosetta.
- Turn right onto Kamberg Road at Rosetta (opposite Ugly Duckling).
- Continue on the tar road for 30 km, until you reach the
Cleopatra/Dondini/Silver Hill sign.
- Turn left onto the dirt road.
- Continue for 5 km, until you reach the single lane bridge.
- When the road turns sharply left and climbs the mountain (500 metres
after the bridge), you will see a concrete wall with the Cleopatra sign. |
