From Cape Town (city and airport approximately 1 and a half hours drive).
- Take the N2 motorway to Somerset West, by-pass Somerset West and drive on over Sir Lowrys pass.
- Stay on the N2, passing the turnoff to Grabouw, until you come to the Houw Hoek pass.
- Go over this pass and immediately at the bottom of the pass take the signed off-ramp to Hermanus.
- The remainder of the journey is approximately 28 km.
- Pass the turnoffs to Kleinmond, Fisherhaven, Hawston, Onrus and Sandbaai.
- You will now start to enter the outskirts of Hermanus.
- Drive on past the Gateway Spar Shopping Centre for a further 2 km into town.
- At the Shell petrol station, turn right, and go one block down to the T-junction.
- Turn right again and the sea is now on your left.
- Stay on this road (Marine Drive which becomes Westcliff Avenue) for a further 2 km until you reach the entrance to the New Harbour.
- At this entrance, turn right on Stil street and Whale Rock Lodge is approximately 100 meters up on the right hand side.
- There are two large palm trees outside the front gates. |
