Offering sweeping views over the Mpumalanga Lowveld Valley, this 5-star guest house offers a fine-dining restaurant, a pool in the gardens and individually decorated suites with a fireplace.
All suites at Highgrove House feature overhead fans, a seating area and views of the valley or forests. Modern amenities include a CD player and free Wi-Fi, and some suites have a private garden with pool.
Guests can begin their day with an al fresco breakfast in the Victorian gazebo. During dinner, the Highgroves restaurant offers candle-lit meals accompanied by local wine.
Highgroves spa and wellness centre includes a sauna and massage rooms. Tour desk staff can schedule a trip to the nearby game reserve, or provide information on the areas scenic Panorama Route.

Directions from Johannesburg or O.R. Tambo Airport:
- Follow signs for the N12 Witbank (now called Emalahleni).
- Travel east on the N12, until the N12 and the N4 from Pretoria merge it is now the N4 highway.
From Pretoria
- Take the N4 highway to Witbank (Emalahleni). Continue towards Nelspruit.
From Nelspruit:
- Before Nelspruit on the N4 highway, carry on straight.
- Pass the Nelspruit/Barbeton off-ramp and carry on until you see the White river turnoff, turn left.
- At the traffic light, turn right.
- Travel around first traffic circle.
- At second traffic circle, turn left.
- Travel past two sets of traffic lights, and turn left to White River.
- At the first set of traffic lights in White River, turn left, then at the next set of traffic lights, turn right.
- Pass through one further set of traffic lights, and turn onto the R40 Hazyview Road.
- Travel on the R40 towards Hazyview for 29km.
- Look on right hand side and find the white Highgrove House sign, turn right.
- Carry on through the forest road, Highgrove Ave, until you arrive at the gate to the entrance. |
