Surrounded by stunning landscape, this lodge is located between Knysna and Plettenberg Bay and offers travellers a tranquil retreat along the Garden Route.
Guests are accommodated in spacious, self-contained studio units. All rooms also feature a partially covered, spacious, private patio and deck.
For an additional payment, guests can enjoy a substantial Farm or Continental breakfast in the traditional lapa and take in the panoramic views. In addition, private and communal barbecue facilities are available, and there is a lounge with DSTV and fireplace and breakfast/dining room.
The lounge leads onto the patio deck with solar heated splash pool, offering views across the 2,7km˛ farm.
Protea Wilds Retreat enjoys far-reaching views, and provides plenty of activities for guests to enjoy including horse riding or hiking. The hotel staff can prepare packed lunches and also make arrangements for various excursions and adventure sports. |

Enjoy a varied hot and cold farm breakfast in the morning. Dinner is available upon request and needs to be booked 24 hours in advance. An honesty fridge is available with a selection of the most popular beverages.

| Abundant with local fauna and bird-life, the farm is ideal for scenic 4x4 routes and mountain biking trips. If you prefer, you can hike down to the Bitou River and have a swim. |
By Car:
- Coming from Knysna or Plettenberg Bay, follow the N2 for approximately 16
km, until you reach the Protea Wilds turn-off (on brown tourism board with 2
other names).
- The road is also marked with a green Fisanthoek sign.
- Follow the road for about 5 km, crossing 2 low water bridges in the process.
- Turn right at the brown Protea Wilds sign.
- Follow the road until you reach the reception (Terra Cotta Cape Dutch house).

| The lodge includes 9 kms gravel road, mostly in good condition. Can be slippery and muddy in heavy rains. Suited to normal sedan motors, but not very low suspension cars like Mini Coopers, BMW's with low profile tyres and similar. |
