Directions to Forest Creek (2.5 to 3 hours):
- From Johannesburg, take the N4 Witbank / Middelburg;
- Drive through Machadodorp Toll Plaza;
- 3 km after the toll on the left, take the Schoemanskloof bypass towards Lydenburg/Nelspruit;
- After approximately 15 km there is a turn off to the left to Lydenburg, which is the R36;
- Continue on the R36 to Lydenburg approximately 18 km there will be Kwena Dam on the right;
- Start looking for Forest Creek/Rustenburg signs on the left;
- Take the Rustenburg dirt road to the left, travel 4km, on the left-hand side there will be the Forest Creek sign, farm no 14 (there are two concrete eagles on the gate post).
Directions from Nelspruit - 1 to half an hour (98 km):
- N4 out of Nelspruit past Halls Store after 22 km, turn right onto the Schoemanskloof bypass;
- Travel 45 km, right onto R36 to Lydenburg;
- Travel 18 km, there will ne see Kwena Dam on the right. Look for the Forest Creek/Rustenburg signs on the left;
- Turn left onto the dirt road and travel 4 km. Look for Forest Creek sign on the left (farm 14).Come in the gate and 4.4 km up the hill to Forest Creek.
Directions from Dullstroom - 50 mins (62 km):
- Take the Lydenburg road out of Dullstroom, travel approximately 35 km and on the right you will see a sign that says Witklip; Take this dirt road and travel 8 km;
- You will come to the Lydenburg/Machadodorp road (R36);
- Turn right, travel 18 km, come down the hill and there will be the Kwena Dam on the left;
- Look for the Forest Creek Lodge sign on the left, pointing to the right;
- Take this dirt road, 4 km of farm road and farm no. 14 will be on the left (the gate with 2 concrete eagles);
- Come in the gate and travel up the farm road 4.4 km and Forest Creek will be at the top. |
